Skyward Express is a Kenyan airline based in Nairobi, Kenya. It was founded in 2013 and operates scheduled domestic passenger services within Kenya. The airline’s main hub is Wilson Airport in Nairobi, and it also operates flights from Mombasa and Lamu.

Skyward Express operates a fleet of Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia and Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft, and offers daily scheduled flights to destinations such as Eldoret, Kisumu, Malindi, and Ukunda. The airline aims to provide safe, reliable, and affordable air travel to its passengers, and offers online booking and check-in services to make travel more convenient for its customers.

Baggage Policy

Skyward Express offers a maximum permitted weight for Checked Baggage of 20kg / 44lbs inclusive of hand luggage. Passengers will be required to pay an extra charge for carriage of Baggage in excess of the free Baggage allowance (as stipulated in our terms and conditions). These rates are available from us upon request from time to time.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers are entitled to one piece of carry-on baggage and a personal item. The carry-on baggage cannot exceed 5 kg / 11 lbs in weight and no larger than 30cm x 53cm x 23cm (12″ x 21″ x 9″). Personal items include a purse, a handbag, a laptop, a camera, etc.

Any carry-on baggage exceeding the limit must be transported as checked baggage.

Checked Baggage

A piece of checked baggage is allowed for each passenger as long as it’s lighter than 15kg / 33lbs in weight and the size of standard checked baggage. Any oversized or large objects will not be accepted by the airline.

Excess Baggage

You will be required to pay an extra charge for carriage of Baggage in excess of the free Baggage allowance (as stipulated in our terms and conditions). These rates are available from us upon request from time to time.

Carriage of excess Baggage is subject to available space on your flight.

Class Information

The only cabin class available on Skyward Express flights is Economy Class.

Economy Class

Economy Class is the airline’s only cabin class. The cabin spacious and relaxed cabin is crewed by the airline’s friendly and professionally trained cabin crew.

Economy Class Seats

Seats are usually set out in either a 2 x 2 or 2 x 3 formation. Seats are designed to give maximum legroom and space to each passenger.

Online check-in opens 24 hours before departure. Please prepare your ticket and passport details for check-in.

Airport Check-In

Airport check-in counters open 90 minutes up until 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time. It is advised to arrive in plenty of time at the airport to avoid unexpected delays.

Any passengers late for check-in may result in losing their ticket. Please present valid photographic identification at the airport to verify the traveller’s identity.

Wilson Airport

Wilson Airport is a local airport in Nairobi, Kenya and operates flights to many regional airports. The airport, formerly known as Nairobi West Aerodrome, was founded in 1929 by Florence Kerr Wilson, a wealthy widow, and was eventually renamed Wilson Airport in 1962 in honour of Mrs Wilson.

Wilson Airport is the hub airport for Airkenya Express, Safarilink and Aerolink. Other airlines which fly to and from Wilson Airport include Airkenya Express, Fly SAX (formerly East African Safari Air) and Safarilink.

The airport is primarily used for air traffic related to tourism, health care and agriculture. It averages around 120,000 departures and arrivals on an annual basis.It’s also popular with aircraft operating on business executive routes due to the fast check-in times and minimal flight delays, compared to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
