Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport, also known as Tom Jobim International Airport, is the main airport serving Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is located on Governador Island, approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of downtown Rio de Janeiro.
Galeão Airport is the second busiest airport in Brazil, after São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport, and it serves over 17 million passengers annually. The airport has two runways and two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which are connected by a shuttle bus.
Galeão Airport offers direct flights to destinations throughout South America, North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. It is a hub for several major airlines, including LATAM Brasil, Gol Transportes Aéreos, and Azul Brazilian Airlines.
