Mexico City International Airport
Mexico City International Airport (MEX) is the main airport serving Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. The airport is located in Venustiano Carranza, about 5 km (3 miles) east of the city’s historic center. MEX is one of the busiest airports in Latin America, serving more than 50 million passengers annually. It offers connections to destinations throughout Mexico, as well as to major cities in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. The airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which are connected by a pedestrian walkway and a shuttle bus. Both terminals offer a variety of services and amenities for passengers, including restaurants, cafes, shops, and duty-free stores. There are also lounges for airline passengers with elite status or access to certain credit cards. MEX is undergoing a major expansion project to improve its facilities and increase its capacity. The project includes the construction of a new terminal, Terminal 3, which is expected to be completed in 2023. Once completed, the airport will be able to handle up to 85 million passengers annually.
