A Brief History of LAM Mozambique Airlines
LAM Mozambique Airlines, originally known as “LAM – Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique,” was founded in 1936, making it one of the oldest airlines in Africa. In the decades that followed, LAM underwent significant transformations, transitioning from a colonial department to a state-owned enterprise and ultimately achieving full autonomy as Mozambique gained independence in 1975.
Following independence, LAM Mozambique Airlines became the national flag carrier and embarked on a journey to expand its network, fleet, and services. The airline has played a vital role in connecting Mozambique to other African nations and the rest of the world.
