Kenmore Air Harbor, Inc., doing business as Kenmore Air, is an American airline with its headquarters on the grounds of Kenmore Air Harbor, Kenmore, Washington, USA, North of Seattle. Founded in 1946 Kenmore Air currently operates scheduled and charter seaplane and land plane services.

Kenmore Air currently has three airport hubs; the headquarters at Kenmore Air Harbor, Seattle Lake Union and King County International Airport. Kenmore Air currently to destinations throughout western Washington and southwestern British Columbia, as well as seaplane “flightseeing” flights around Seattle. Destinations include Harbours and airports in the following destinations; Lopez Island (USA), Orcas Island (USA), San Juan Island (USA), Victoria Inner Harbour (Canada), Gulf Islands (Canada), Vancouver Island/ Inside Passage (Canada).

Kenmore Air currently operate on a variety of aircraft currently totalling 25 (as of Jan 16). Seaplane aircraft include two Cessna 180’s, one Cessna Grand Caravan, sixteen de Havilland Canada DHC’s and two Piper PA-18 Super Clubs. Land planes currently include two Cessna C-208 Caravan’s and 2 PA-31-350 all of which are based at their base at King County International Airport.

Baggage Allowance

The baggage allowance rules for flights with Kenmore Air depend on the type of aircraft/route you’re flying on.

Floatplane Baggage Allowance

Passengers who have booked a flight on Kenmore Air’s floatplane are limited to one piece of baggage weighing no more than 11kg (25 lbs).

Personal items are allowed including purses, laptops, backpacks, etc, however, the weight of these item will count towards the total allowance.

No single item can exceed the linear dimensions of 127cm (length + width + height).

Land Plane Baggage Allowance

Passengers flying on Kenmore Air’s land planes are allowed a little more baggage than floatplane passengers. Lane plane passengers are permitted up to 23kg (50 lbs) of baggage.

Personal items are allowed and can weigh up to 9kg (20 lbs) per person.

The baggage must not exceed the linear dimensions of 157cm (length + width + height).

Cabin Classes

Kenmore Air operates a fleet of smaller aircraft such as float-planes and wheeled planes – these types of aircraft have a single cabin class configuration. This means that Kenmore Air does not offer multiple cabin classes.

The cabin is generally comfortable and spacious. It has large windows allowing passengers to enjoy the scenic views throughout the flight.

Online Check-In

Online check-in is not currently available for flights with Kenmore Air.

Airport Check-In

For international flights, passengers need to check in at least 45 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time.

For domestic flights, passengers are required to check in at least 30 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time.

Flor any flights that are departing from un-staffed locations (e.g., floatplane docks in the San Juan Islands or British Columbia), passengers need to arrive at the designated pick-up location at least 20 minutes before takeoff.

In-Flight Entertainment

Due to the type of aircraft that Kenmore Air operates, in-flight entertainment is not provided. However, the routes that the airline flies are very scenic and perfect for sightseeing, especially if you want to take in the beautiful natural landscape of the Pacific Northwest.

You can also bring your own forms of entertainment such as books, magazines or other portable devices that have access to entertainment.

Hub Airport

Kenmore Air Harbor Seaplane Base (Lake Union)

Kenmore Air Harbor Seaplane Base, also known as Lake Union, is a seaplane base situated on the south shore of Lake Union in Seattle, United States. Kenmore Air uses this base as a hub and operates daily flights to many destinations in the Pacific Northwest from here.

There is a main terminal building inside the seaplane base with check-in counters, a waiting area and a gift shop. There is also a dock area where passengers can board and disembark from seaplanes.
