About Germanwings

Germanwings was a German low-cost airline that was founded in 2002 and operated until 2015, when it was integrated into Eurowings. The airline was headquartered in Cologne and operated flights to various destinations throughout Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Germanwings operated a modern fleet of aircraft, which included Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft. The airline offered passengers a choice of travel classes, including economy and a premium economy class called Best. Passengers could also purchase additional services, such as extra legroom and in-flight meals.

The airline was known for its affordable prices and was popular with budget-conscious travelers. Germanwings also had a frequent flyer program called Boomerang Club, which allowed members to earn and redeem miles for flights and other rewards.

In March 2015, Germanwings Flight 9525 crashed in the French Alps, killing all 150 people on board. Following the crash, the airline announced that it would be integrated into Eurowings, another low-cost airline owned by Lufthansa Group.

The integration of Germanwings into Eurowings was completed in 2016, and the Germanwings brand was retired. Today, Eurowings operates flights to various destinations throughout Europe, and the airline continues to offer affordable prices and a range of travel classes and services.
